POM POM SHOES!

Image
Today's fashion post is, you guessed it, all about Pom Pom Shoes! If you haven't checked out my video from this week on how to make virtually anything into a "pom pom" shoe, you can check it out below. Now that we got that out of the way, let's talk about how to wear them. I feel as if I have been waiting for this trend to take off for YEARS! Back in the day circa 2007 I had a pair of black pumps with a huge flower at the foot. Okay I get it, not exactly a "pom pom" but it held the same impact. People noticed. A few years later... I mean, over a decade later, and Pom Pom Shoes are literally everywhere! I think we can all agree that the whole point of pom pom shoes is to make a statement. Having said that, you can wear them with virtually any outfit in the world! I personally like the idea of having the shoes be the main focus of the outfit when I am wearing these. So of course I would opt for a classic, sleek outfit and allow the shoes to do all the ta

BB Cream VS CC Cream

Image
If you have been looking up what in the world these BB and CC and whatever other double letter creams they decide to come out with are, you've come to the right place. If you've been here before, you probably know that I like to give the facts or rather the "what it's supposed to do" followed by my opinion on what it actually does. What is a BB Cream? "BB" stands for "Blemish Balm", which is a creamy, lighter weight foundation that is meant to do what a foundation does, while moisturizing and protecting your skin from the sun.  What is a CC Cream? "CC" stands for "Color Correcting" which is also a creamy, lighter weight foundation that is meant to even out skin tones, while moisturizing and protecting your skin from the sun. BB Creams and CC Creams are pretty much a single step up from the tinted moisturizer when it comes to coverage. They provide more coverage than a tinted moisturizer and less coverage than a fu

Do Blue Shirts Go with Blue Jeans?

Image
Do blue shirts go with blue jeans? Of course! As long as you aren't trying to match a blue denim top with blue denim jeans. That will literally never work, unless you are Jessie from "Saved by the Bell". If you are looking to wear a non denim blue top with denim jeans, don't try to match the blue top to the denim jeans either. That also won't work. Have you ever seen someone, unintentionally wear a faded black top with sharp black bottoms in an effort to match the blacks? It's all wrong because it looks unintentional. Instead of trying to "match" your blues, try wearing variations of blue that compliment each other. As I mentioned in a previous post, fashion should be on purpose , it shouldn't look unintentional because it is not unintentional. If you want to wear a blue top with blue jeans, you can choose a bright, vibrant blue top with dark blue jeans. It's on purpose and in no way trying to pass as a one piece/jumpsuit or romper. Creat

Are Magneitic Lashes Safe? Worth it? Hard to Apply?

Image
All the buzz right now are magnetic eyelashes with YouTubers telling you that you NEED them and by the way here is my promo code. Then you never see another tutorial in which those same YouTubers choose magnetic lashes over traditional "falsies", or false eyelashes to the non YouTube community. It leads me to wonder, if YouTubers didn't have a promo code would they even waste their time making a video with a positive review? Or would they tell you the truth about magnetic lashes? I can't speak for the YouTube community as a whole but I can speak for myself. I am a small YouTuber who has built a channel on my honesty to my subscribers. I am also a certified makeup artist and a makeup lover who has been in the beauty industry for the past 12 years. Having provided you with my personal stats, I am here to tell you that anyone who tells you that magnetic lashes look good or are easier to put on than traditional false lashes is straight up fucking lying. I put on false

Those who love, TEACH! | Makeup Artist

Image
I’ve always wanted to teach cosmetology/ makeup. I love the industry so much that I always come home from work and talk my husbands ear off about formulas and applications. I’m sure he’s tired of hearing about stuff he has no idea about but I can’t help myself. To me, my career is like being in love, I just want to shout it from a roof top. So long story short an opportunity to teach my friend how to do makeup came up and I jumped on it. She reached out to me about going to a makeup school and I thought, I want to teach and you want to learn, let’s make this happen. She was on board making the commute from Long Island to Mahopac, once a week for about a 4-5 hour class. First class was about the fundamentals of makeup. In order to break the rules, first we must know and understand them. The class was mainly a lecture and then I asked her to do a basic makeup application on me. I walked her through the steps and added in a few little critiques but besides that, there was no demo. My goa

What To Wear with a High Low Ball Skirt | How to Wear a Ball Gown Skirt

Image
So you found THE perfect ball gown skirt but you have no idea what in the world to do with it?! You're thinking, how do I wear it and where do I wear it to? You've come to the right place! First lets start with the story behind my high low ball gown skirt, because this wouldn't be a post of mine if there wasn't a story to go with it. My mother in law pointed this skirt out to me, on a clearance rack, while we strolled the streets of Saratoga Springs. She asked me if she should get it for her youngest daughter. I agreed it was really pretty but questioned where would she wear it to? We kept walking and my husband told me that his mom thought I should try it on. I was secretly obsessed with it when she originally showed it to me but I honestly didn't know where I, my sister in law, or anyone would wear it to. Besides I had just convinced my mother in law not to get it for my sister in law, I didn't want to take it from under her nose! I went back to the clearanc

What Are Face Serums? Are They Worth It or Even Necessary?

Image
Are serums worth the pricey price tag? Are they even a necessary step in your skin care routine?  Before we can decide this we need to understand exactly what a serum is and what it is used for. A serum is a lightweight moisturizer that penetrates deeper than a traditional moisturizer, to deliver the active ingredient(s) to your skin. Serums only moisturize to a certain extent therefore they should be used with a moisturizer. Serums should be applied twice daily. First application should come after cleaning and toning your face, preferably on damp skin. When it comes to serums, less is more for not only your skin care routine but also your budget. After applying your serum, wait a few minutes to give the active ingredients time to work their magic and then apply a sunscreen or moisturizer of your choice. A serum should be applied again at night, after you wash the day off your face. Again, wait a few minutes for the active ingredients to work their magic and then apply your favori

NYDJ Review Not Your Daughter's Jeans

Image
I recently had a huge TJMAXX Haul on my YouTube channel . During that haul, I embarrassingly had no idea what "NYDJ" stood for. Then a kind viewer informed me, "NYDJ" is Not Your Daughter's Jeans. Oops. Where have I been? Certainly not spending $114 on NYDJ!  The other night I finally got around to wearing them. After a few minutes of wear I thought, I NEED to review these. I purchased the dark enzyme wash, straight jeans with the "original slimming fit" that boasts, "look a full size smaller" with "lift tuck technology". The pants also have a disclaimer on them, "NYDJ cannot be held responsible for any positive consequence that may arise due to your fabulous appearance when wearing our apparel." Great, I literally could not wait to fall in love with the look and feel of these jeans. I should have everyone know that when I fall in love with jeans, I fall HARD. Now lets talk fit. From the second I put them on th
